le ruth\u00e9nium, l&rsquo;iridium et l&rsquo;osmium forment un groupe d&rsquo;\u00e9l\u00e9ments appel\u00e9s m\u00e9taux du groupe du platine (MGP).\u00a0Ceux-ci ont des propri\u00e9t\u00e9s chimiques similaires, mais le palladium a le point de fusion le plus bas et est le moins dense d&rsquo;entre eux.\u00a0Plus de la moiti\u00e9 de l&rsquo;offre de palladium et de son conductivit\u00e9 \u00e9lectrique, la conductivit\u00e9 thermique et la r\u00e9flectivit\u00e9 les plus \u00e9lev\u00e9es de tous les m\u00e9taux.\u00a0Le m\u00e9tal se trouve dans la cro\u00fbte terrestre sous forme \u00e9l\u00e9mentaire pure et libre (\u00ab\u00a0argent natif\u00a0\u00bb), en tant qu&rsquo;alliage avec de l&rsquo;or et d&rsquo;autres m\u00e9taux, et dans des min\u00e9raux
