peri\u00f3dica.\u00a0\u00c9 obtido principalmente do mineral cassiterita, que cont\u00e9m di\u00f3xido de estanho.\u00a0A primeira liga usada em larga escala foi o bronze, feito de estanho e cobre, corros\u00e3o), Nichrome (uma liga usada para elementos de aquecimento de resist\u00eancia), Permalloy (uma liga com alta permeabilidade magn\u00e9tica com baixa intensidade de campo e baixa perda de histerese), cupro-n\u00edquel, a\u00e7o inoxid\u00e1vel, n\u00edquel prata, etc. As ligas \u00e0 base de n\u00edquel (por exemplo, ligas Fe-Cr-Ni(Mo)) apresentam excelente ductilidade e tenacidade,
